(Touchy).
"Yeah, guess so," Herbert muttered, sort of unwilling to see the Supers. It'll just remind him of what he lost. He was still thinking about his weird dream when he blurted out:
"Hey Aurora, could I talk to you quickly?"

((there is only one bitch here and her name is Ed, i'll thank you to remember))
Ed, bacon baguette already half-eaten and with a couple of sausage baps in her bag, followed after Chris. All the tents looked the same to her -- grey, with various patterns of grey -- and the place was too crowded to make any sense of it with her nose. It was like trying to walk around with a kaleidoscope strapped to her face, except her eyes were her nose. Ed missed colours.

Chris did not approach the tent but instead just stood in front of it finishing off her breakfast.
Once she had finished, she looked around to see that only Ed had followed her thus far. She sighed but decided to wait for the others to catch up.
Turning to Ed she asked, "so what's it like being a dog person now? If you don't mind my asking?"

"I don't want to sniff butts, if that's what you're angling for," Ed said, polishing off her baguette. She paused for a moment, giving the question some thought beyond her initial glib answer. "I don't see very well. Smelling is almost like seeing though; I recognise people with my nose now more than my eyes. I can smell everything, and I can't turn it off like you can just by closing your eyes."
She paused again. "Plus, wagging my tail is really weird."

Chris initially began laughing at the wagging tail part but she soon calmed herself down.
"That's interesting about your senses though. I guess you literally are a dog. Though if you do suddenly feel the urge to start sniffing butts, warn somebody first," she said, giggling slightly but trying not to seem insensitive.

Ed gave Chris a serious look. "Chris, I know we've only known each other for a day and a change, but it's vitally important that I sniff your butt." She snorted and then laughed, cackling loudly and drawing severally eyes in their direction. "Why the hell -- no, how the hell?" she said through her laughter. "How do I even ask for something like that?"

Chris simply took two steps back out of severe fright.

Aurora was eating her own bacon bap ando blinked when Herbert spoke to her. "Sure thing. What do you need?" She gave Olem a commanding look to say "bugger off for a moment."

Herbert walked to side of the Square as everyone else made their way to a tent emblazoned with the Olympus symbol. He rubbed his hands together nervously, turning to face her.
"This should probably be weird, but I guess with everything that's happened it'll sound pretty normal. Either way, I think it's important." He locked his grey eyes onto her, his face curious. "You said you don't have your powers anymore? Are you absolutely certain?"

Aurorain followed him to the side. He looked at her, innocent eyes connecting right to the core of her soul. Aurora stared back, focused on the colour of his eyes.
"I guess I can't be certain, but right now they aren't working. So I just assumed they have gone. I... I don't think yours are gone though. It's in your genes Herbert."

Olem noticed the look, and moved away. He found a comfy bench, and sat down, taking out his book and browsing through it.

Herbert smiled at the last comment but shook his head before coming out with a quiet question, laced with passion and slightly staggered in its delivery. "Aurora... have you even had the feeling.... that you were meant to do something, extraordinary?" He looked around, trying to collect his words. "I'm talking about who you are, being special." He stopped, trying to collect his thoughts. "I don't know, maybe because of my parents I've always thought there's more. But there's not. I wasn't meant to have powers, that's it."
He set his jaw though as he sized her up. "You though...," he moved closer, careful not to touch her. "I know you still have your abilities Aurora. I had a dream last night, and you were in it!" He suddenly realised what he'd said. "I mean, Lucio was too, and a man I've never seen before. In it, we were holding hands but even though I could feel your power, you weren't affecting me. It's, it's like we were sharing the injuries and then there was Lucio, and he was important somehow, I could feel it!"
He took a deep breath. "And there was a man, the same one I saw the other day. The black streak. He told me it was important that I took his hand, he was very insistent. And after that there was a man, bearded. I know this was the most important bit! I, I think he could fly! He was laughing at me, telling me all I had to do was fly."
Herbert stood there, afraid about her reaction. "I'm sorry to unload this on you. I wanted to talk to Lucio but I couldn't get hold of him. And I know you understand what it's like to not fit in. You shouldn't be scared of your powers, Aurora."

Aurora tried to interrupt when he said he knew she still had her abilities. “Herb I de-” but then he continued onto his dream. She was curious so she let him finish. At the end, she smiled and she reached out to hold his hand with her good one, if he would let her. “Herbert. In a world full of Super Heroes with Super Human powers, it's very easy to overlook some of the most important heroes in society.
Powers aren't what makes people extraordinary, it's WHO they are and what they do with their time and energy that makes them extraordinary. The nurses who sit with the children who are in hospital, the volunteers that give their time to make sure the elderly aren't alone and have someone to talk to, the average policeman who doesn't know whether that criminal is going to shoot a fire ball at him or just run away. These people probably never ever thought they were extraordinary, but they are! They are some of the most important people who make up this world. Whether you have powers or not? It's not important.”
Aurora finally broke her eye contact and stared at the floor. She felt a little embarrassed with her feel-good speech, but it was how she genuinely felt. She always felt that her father's work as a hard working doctor sometimes got overlooked. A Super Hero can save the life of someone for a burning building and they will get all the TV time, but it's her dad who treat the burns and provide the after-care.
“I think your dream is important, Herb. I don't know if it's a premonition or anything like that, but coming from a psychological standpoint I can try to break it down for you. Holding hands with people that feel important and sharing the burden? I think it's telling you that you can feel at home with the people you are with now. We are all here for you, powers or not. I don't know who the dark man is, but you didn't take his hand in the dream? Yet he was trying to force you into it? Hmmm, that could be a sign that you feel pressured.
“That's backed up by the man with the beard laughing and telling you to fly. You feel pressured... maybe to live up to your parents expectations? Or you know... maybe you really can just see the future. Sorry, I didn't mean to ramble on for so long. I hope I can help you see things from a different perspective though? Sometimes, things aren't how they seem.”
She ignored the bit about her being scared of her powers. Aurora knew she had already dragged on long enough.

Herbert smiled at her warmly but he still looked frustrated though. "The problem is trying to save the world one person at a time; it's just not good enough," he muttered.
He almost laughed at her evaluation of his psych but he held it in; she meant well and he appreciated it. "Maybe it is all in my mind... I don't know, but watch out for bearded men, okay?" he smiled. "Mine pushed me off the building in the end." He reached out and took her proffered hand, out of instinct.
And nothing happened to either one of them.

His hand was warm. “If everyone pulled together and saved one person at a time, then we'd live in a much better world.” She closed her eyes and grinned. “Are you trying to tell me to keep away from Olem?” She laughed, and said that in hopes it was loud enough to hear from where he was.
