(OOC later but on the same day, I think)
Chris made it to the nearest supermarket, the thoughts of what could've happened in Trafalgar Square still swimming around her head. She was of course concerned in case any of the others had gotten caught up in it and the likelihood was that they had, knowing them as she did. Chris did her best to push past these thoughts and concentrate on her task at hand, to get stronger. She had to continue to train. Her fight with Margarita and the other cloaked villain had clearly shown her that she still had a long way to go. She would never be ready to fight the Redeemer again at this rate.
She had made her way back to the drinks aisle and was filling her basket with different varieties of litre bottles of lucozade. The usual assortments of sandwiches and chocolate bars were also piled in.
"You know, most people just go for coffee if they're looking for a caffeine boost," a voice suddenly shattered Chris' thoughts. She frantically looked around for a split second before turning her attention to a young man stood to the side of her with a six pack of coke in his hand. He was a little taller than Chris, dark brown hair slicked back. He was looking at her with soft brown eyes and a playful smile on his lips.
"Well it's more for the sugar rush," Chris smirked back at him in an equally playful manner.
"Oh I'll bet," the man chuckled, "so ah.....what's with the getup?" he gestured towards the severely charred hat and coat that she was still wearing.
"Erm...there just old is all," she laughed nervously as she removed the hat and ruffled her hair, cascading it down her shoulders.
"So old that your mum tried to through it on the fire and then you quickly retrieved it?" he joked.
"Hahahahahaha something like that," a flirtatious glint in her eye shone out as her smile widened.
"So it's not just because you're smoking hot?" he winked at her as she was happily taken aback by the compliment, "I'm Seb by the way," offered her his hand with a friendly smile.
"Oh pleasure, I'm Chris," she juggled the items in her hand as eventually returned the handshake.
"Chris? Interesting, do you need a hand with all that?"
"Oh no it's fine. It's not heavy, just cumbersome but I got it. I can handle more weight than this puny basket," she whipped out her signature wink as her confidence returned. She was surprisingly out of practice with this sort of thing.
"Wow really," Seb raised his eyebrows, "you're a mega athletic girl then?"
"Kinda."
"Well, most guys would feel a little emasculated by such a strong young woman," the playful smile returned to Seb's expression.
"What's wrong little boy? Don't like being put on the bottom?" her wink was much more seductive this time.
"Oh I don't always mind," his tone grew ever more flirtatious.
"Good," Chris had a playful smirk spread right across her face, "but right now, there are some other things I need to be getting 'on top of'," she winked at him as she replaced her hat and turned to walk away, being sure to sachet.
Making her way to the self service checkout, Chris began to scan her items through and pack them. Seb had followed her over and was using the machine to her right. They exchanged a series of playful glances before Seb leaned over and whispered softly in her ear, "if I may be so bold, do you have any plans for tonight?" Chris slowly reared back, a mischievous look on her face, "sorry hot shot, I'm all booked."
"Well then, would you be willing to give me your number so I can call you at a time when you're not booked?"
"Sure," Chris smiled as she took her phone out, "though I must warn you, I'm a very busy girl."
"Oh I don't doubt it. You got a few marathons to prepare for right?" Seb teased as they exchanged numbers.
"That's my business I'm afraid," Chris' playful smile grew, "but I'm sure we'll bump into each other again at some point," she left him with her signature wink as she picked up her bag of supplies and headed out of the store.
