"Super Parents? Potentially dormant superpowers? AND a fellow lost fresher?" Lucio clapped Herbert on the shoulder. "We're friends now. No arguing, amico." He laughed, before turning to Aurora.
"So, these lecture halls: they are confusing, yes? Would you mind showing us where they are, and where we can find the history department?"
While he put on an air of nonchalance, inside Lucio was prepping all the questions he would bombard Herbert with later on. Namely, who are his parents, what does super-consultancy work look like, do they wear ties and suit jackets over their spandex uniforms when consulting, have they ever relished in the slaughter and could he get their autographs.
Wait. Maybe cross off the one about relishing in the slaughter. That was just Saguinary' modus operandi, and thankfully he was American and this Herbert didn't have a trace of an American accent. Herbert... It was such an English name.

"No problem." Aurora nodded her head. "I can be your tour guide." She turned to Signe. "Do you fancy coming along for the ride? You probably know what lecture rooms they will actually have to be in after all."

Signe nodded. Why the hell not? She wasn't going to get any writing done. She packed up and stood up.

Herbert looked at Lucio gratefully, accepting his offer of friendship. He stopped tapping his fingers, which had steadily been increasing in speed, leaving a wiff of smoke, and stood up to see the dorms.

"Just to clarify, where did you want us to take you first?" Aurora asked.

"Erm, maybe the dorms. Get set up and stuff?" Herbert's eyes widened with excitement. "Or maybe that experiment thing they have on campus. I heard about it but, I mean, maybe it was a rumour."

"Lecture halls sound good. Once we have a rough idea of where we go to study I'll feel a bit more at home. Then I can properly unpack and not worry too much." Lucius said.

Signe nodded. "Sure." She began to walk towards the door.

Freya walked into the Cafe on campus, desperate for a Chai Latte and something chocolatey. She needed somewhere to relax without so many witnesses around. Since discovering these superpowers she's developed being around so many people was making her paranoid, as though everyone could tell just by looking at her. Luckily as there was no queue as there were only one or two people dotted about the place. Freya got her Chai Latte and a large slice of chocolate tiffin. She sat down in one of the comfy sofas and quickly glanced around to check no one was watching her. Slowly she removed the lid off of her drink and cupped her hands around the cup and concentrated. Rapidly the liquid inside started bubbling and boiling over. Her concentration was broken as the doors to the cafe opened. Swiftly she put her cup on the table in front of her and resumed munching on her tiffin.

Alex was sitting in the back corner of the cafe, a cup of black coffee in front of him. He cupped his hands around it and tried to lift. The cup stayed stubbornly where it was. Alex smiled, tightening his grip and his focus as he tried again to lift it. The cup remained in place. He moved his hands away from it and relaxed his focus. Gravity returned to its normal state around the cup and he lifted it easily to his lips. Where it stayed when he took his hand away. He sat back, examining it, keeping an eye out to make sure nobody was watching. Then he plucked the cup out of the air and put it back in place on the table as he noticed Freya sat a little distance away.
'Hey,' he said, walking over to her table, coffee cup in hand, 'how's it going? Last time I saw you everything was sort of crazy after the whole explosion thing.'

Freya glanced up at the sound of Alex's voice, her cheeks bulging with the large piece of tiffin she had bitten off. Embarrassed at how uncivilised she must look stuffing her face with chocolate, Freya's cheek flushed and she averted her eyes as she swallowed the chocolate.
'Hey Alex,' she replied, 'Not too bad, just craving a caffeine fix. Yeah the explosion thing was rather strange. I cannot believe any university would house something that was so dangerous on a campus full of young students. How are you settling in? Well I presume?'

Alex grinned at the sight of Freya over-stuffing her face with chocolate and took the seat opposite her.
'Strange is one word for it,' he agreed. 'Campus wrecked, Drones going mental... I guess if they can pass it off as a fancy research centre and it pays, why would the uni lift a finger against it?' He sighed and took a sip of his coffee. 'Yeah, I've been settling in alright, thanks. Being stuck in the Accommodation Centre's not exactly what I'd hoped for in second year, but y'know, it's not all bad. Actually, at this point, I'm just grateful for somewhere to chill out between coursework and Olympus prancing around campus every five minutes. How you been settling in? Good first week so far?'

She hated to admit it, but Alex looked very handsome when he smiled...No! She was here to focus on work and achieve her degree so she could escape from her overbearing mother. She had worked too hard to convince her parents to let her go to university, Freya did not need anything or anyone messing this up for her. It was bad enough now that she has these bloody powers to worry about!
Freya plastered on a polite smile, 'The Drones were quite scary. And here I thought that university would be normal or boring.' she chuckled. 'Oh, you're a second year? This is my first year. I'm quite excited to experience the university lifestyle and use all the resources available to me whilst I'm here.' Freya sat up straighter as she spoke excitedly about what university might hold. 'Although I could do without the further complications.' she mumbled under her breath. At the mention of further complications Freya's eye was drawn to her coffee cup on the table. On the right side of the cup was the distinct shape of a slightly brown hand print. When she used her star powers earlier she must have burnt the cup slightly heating her coffee. Quickly glancing up at Alex's face hoping he had not yet spotted to strange marking on her cup, she picked up the cup and covered the marking with her hand. The last thing she needed was someone asking questions about things she didn't know the answers to herself.
'So, have you signed up for any clubs or activities?' she fired to questioned at Alex.

Alex found something of a smile tugging at his lips as Freya spoke, watching the way she sat up straight, looking so neat and presentable. She really had the posh thing down. It was sort of cute and not something he was used to seeing in people his age. Still, he couldn't help feeling it went hand in hand with a touch of naivete.
'Yeah, I know a few guys who were on the receiving end of those Drone attacks. They were alright, in the end, but it was... well, it was a scary few hours. And that explosion scared the hell out of me when it went off.' He took another gulp of coffee, needing the warm caffeine buzz. 'Yeah, second year here. You're just starting? It's not a bad uni. Social stuff's pretty great here. You been to RaveSpace yet? The club on campus? Think they've got something big on soon for Freshers' Week.' He raised an eyebrow. 'What further complications?' Looking down into the coffee cup, the same coffee cup that had been levitating moments ago, he thought Freya didn't know the beginning of "complicated".
'Nah, I'm not really into the whole societies thing. I tend to spend my spare time in the gym. Or I'm always up for a night out.' He downed what was left of his coffee. 'What about you? Got much planned for your free time?'
