Chris returned to her room via the usual route, through her still open window. She set her things down and went about gathering her towel and more comfortable clothes before heading off to grab a shower. Whilst in the bathroom, she let herself have a good long soak, it had been a hard day, full of training. She felt as if she'd gotten a little stronger and that she understood her powers a bit better, at least with regards to being able to change her aura's colour even if it was a mere parlor trick.
Her mind also wandered to the man she had met at the shops, what was his name? Seb was it? He was rather handsome but the last guy she'd flirted with so heavily had turned out to be the rapist she and Olem were hunting and the one before that rejected her advances. Maybe it was best to leave well enough alone. Then again, he did have beautiful hair and gorgeous deep brown eyes and she reckoned he had a really huge....."No! No! No! Stop it Chris! We can't be thinking about things like that at a time like this! We have work to do!" she tried to control herself. In any case she resolved to wait and see if he'd message her first, that was how she normally did things anyway, waited for them to come to her and they usually did.
After she had dried herself and gotten dressed again, short shorts and a tank top, Chris slowly and carefully headed back down to the kitchen area in the Common room to see if there was any food she could rustle up. She'd ran out of groceries over the course of the day and given that she hadn't been around very much, if at all, she had no food of her own in the accommodation block. "Well I am from Manchester so perhaps it's not too far out of my nature to nick someone else's grub just this once," she thought as she reluctantly took someone's ready meal out and bunged it in the microwave.
Five minutes later, it was ready. Chris had just finished taking it out the microwave when she suddenly heard someone coming. She froze as she heard their footsteps get closer and closer, she didn't have time to meditate and sense who it was. Another student entered the common room, casually strolling in when all of a sudden they jumped out of their skin as they turned on the light and the fact that someone else was in there, lurking in teh darkness, startled them.
"Whoa! Jesus!" the student cried "you frightened the shit outta me!"
"Sorry," Chris apologised as she looked up at the student. Thankfully it was someone she didn't know or more importantly, someone who didn't seem to know her and perhaps even more fortunately, the student was male. She really did just seem to attract guys out of nowhere. Was it luck? Coincidence? Fate? Or maybe there's some sort of existential being forging each chapter in her life like an author? Who knows? Either way Chris was glad to be caught half naked by a total stranger than fully clad in armour by one of the others.
"No it's fine, you startled me was all," the man smiled at her, "I'm Alan by the way." (OOC I'll give you three guesses Flynn
)
"Oh I'm Chris," she smiled back, giving him the once over. Alan was quite tall, just over 6 foot, typical lanky build and had greeny hazel eyes. His hair was light brown and very heavily stylised, looked a bit like a birds nest on the top of his head she thought but he pulled of the look remarkably well.
"Do you always linger in the dark waiting to scare any unsuspecting person who happens to walk into a room?" he teased her.
"I'm just practicing my Batman skills," Chris winked back at him.
"Hahaha fair enough," a devilishly suave smirk rose up his features, "doesn't Batman usually wear a suit though?" he gestured to Chris' lack of clothing as he playfully raised his eyebrows. There was a mischievous glint in his eye.
"Yeh I guess you're right," Chris blushed somewhat, "anyway...." she shrugged as she headed towards the door.
"Hahaha see you around Batman," Alan called after her as he reached into one of the cupboards and grabbed a bag of chili heatwave Doritos and a block of Galaxy caramel.
Chris returned to her room and set the tray of food down on the desk. "Oh shit!" she thought as she remembered she'd forgotten a fork. She hurried out of her room and head back to the common room. Just before she got to the stairs leading to the ground floor, she bumped into Alan again as he was walking back to his room.
"Ah y'all right Batman," that playful smile returned to his lips.
"Hiya," she smiled back in an equal manner.
"Forget something?"
"Yeh a fork."
"Oooo thought Batman was always prepared with his utility belt?" Alan's smile widened.
"Hahaha yeh well...as you can see, I have no utility belt on," Chris chuckled as she shrugged shoulders.
"Oh I can see that," he winked at her.
"Hmm yeh," Chris tried to cover herself up a bit more, "you look like you're settling in for a fun night," she gestured towards his snacks.
"Naruto marathon," he nodded back at her, a satisfied smile on his face.
"Oh that's cool," Chris' interest was piqued, "Shippuden or the earlier stuff?"
"Shippuden. Nearing the end. Skipped over the filler though, that damn ninja ostrich."
"Oh God yeh that was awful, hahaha ninja ostrich." (OOC seriously look it up, there was a ninja ostrich, fucking retarded as hell haha)
"How far along are you with it then?"
"Waiting for the filler where they're all stuck in that dream world to end so I can finally finish it haha," Chris chuckled.
"Ah that's where I'm up to now, they've actually just finished it so it's all complete now, no more filler hahaha."
"Oh cool, I'll have to finish that off sometime."
"Come watch it with me now if you want?" he offered, his expression was still quite playful.
Chris hesitated with her answer for a brief moment. She knew exactly where this would be going or at least she thought she did. The only question that remained for her was did she want to. She did have a lot on her mind and as such wanted to keep her life as simple as possible, no complications of any kind. Then again, with her having super powers and training to hopefully be strong enough to take on the Redeemer again, it was difficult to see how her life was going to get any more complicated.
"Yeh sure," she smiled warmly at him as he lead her down the corridor towards his room.
