"Alright, this is like some Jedi stuff" he remarked, and walked towards a non-dead tree. Before he touched the tree, he attempted to calm himself, put the memories he had previously dredged up to the middle of his mind. Far away enough that they wouldn't affect his control, but close enough to give him power. With that in mind, he touched the tree, with bare hand and the area around his palm did not begin to rot. He felt a small spark of hope, but crushed it to focus on the task. He looked up and focused on a single leaf. The stem of the leaf disintegrated and it it fell towards the ground. Olem extended his hand, and the leaf fell into it, and melted through his fingers. He turned to The Redeemer with a smirk "like that?".
"In regards to your powers question? I have no idea. I guess I'm supposed to do something with them, but I'd rather rot in hell before joining Olympus" he spat on the ground.

'That is very impressive,' the Redeemer remarked quietly. 'But we'll end that for now. That's enough training for today. I'll come back when it's time for you to learn more.'
He walked to Olem's side. 'Remember, Olympus is a lie, Olem. You know that. You're smart. And I suspect that they won't be around forever.'
With that, he pulsed and disappeared.

Once she'd finished replenishing herself, Chris got up and was ready to continue with her training. Her powers enabled her to completely enhance every single aspect of her physicality but she felt that there was even more she could do. Shockwaves for example.
Chris strode confidently towards the shore of the lake and powered herself up, a small gust of wind suddenly rustled through the trees. She let out another small shockwave from one had, sending a rather large ripple through the water. The power of the shockwave was again about the same as the one she'd used against Olem.
Feeling like she could do much better, Chris stretched out both her arms and spread her hands and fingers as wide as she could. She began to concentrate all of her energy as the wind whipped up rapidly around her. The power she was emitting was becoming so great that her body began to crackle as small discharges of electricity flew off her body.
She then forced all of this power down her arms and channeled it into her hands. As she released it, it was more than just a shockwave, it was an energy wave. A huge burst of light sprang forth from her hands and surged towards the water, ripping right through it. The lake was split in two as the energy wave reached the other shore, creating a rather large crater. A wave of water also crashed down on the other side of the lake, soaking the ground as far as two metres into the forest.
Chris stood there, amazed by what she had accomplished. Tired, she wiped her forehead before returning to sit on her tree stump. Perhaps that was enough for today. She had just reshaped the landscape even if it was just a smidge. She finished off the rest of her food and lucozade before scrunching the plastic bag up in her hand.
Feeling fully restored once more, Chris sat up on the tree stump and stared out across the lake. She thought about all she'd done in such a short space of time. She felt as if she'd really gotten the hang of her powers now, like she had a lot more control over them.
Chris closed her eyes and began to breathe deeply. In through her nose and out through her mouth. She just sat there and listened to sound of the wind rustling through the trees, to the water calming down after her violent assault on it, to the birds still chirping.
Opening her eyes again, she got up and began jogging back to the accommodation block.

When the Redeemer left, Olem put his gloves on and made his way out of the forest, towards the accommodation block, thinking about what he had told him. He had confirmed Olem's suspicions about Olympus, he had taught him how to control his power. 'He owed the man a debt just for that' he thought to himself 'but I don't think I should show that lot what I've achieved just yet, they feared me as is'.

Herbert ran into the woods, jumping over logs and trying to hold his emotion in. Staggering to a stop, he panted, trying to clear what had happened from his mind. He wasn't crying, which was good. He heard the crickets whistling in the lake, so he went to sit beside it. He sat on a log and looked through the dark, dusty trees. The sun could barely make its way through them.
He didn't even know why he was so upset. He had only known her a few days. But that didn't make it any less painful. He felt like a outsider; cut off from the group. Everyone else had their powers, and they all seemed to really envy one and other, almost. He'd seen their emotions, he knew. Even Olem... Aurora was always running to him. He shook his head, sighing. He was bitter; Herbert you're great, you're a hero, but apparently that just made him boring, like a brother, he thought as his body flickered in and out of visibility.
He nearly sobbed but he stopped himself. This was pathetic, he knew it. He was being ridiculous. Taking a deep breath, he thought he'd just stay here until he calmed down. That's when he noticed the trees, near to him; rotted and dead, giving off a weird putrid smell. Like a purified disease. Standing up, he went over to examine them. Only one person could have done this; Olem. It appears he'd been practicing. Herbert didn't know why but that made him very uneasy.

Chris came sprinting back into the woods. What was she doing here? She could only sense those signals when she was meditating and even then the range didn't seem all that much either. How on earth was she going to find him? But she felt sh had to, she'd added greatly to his misery. Staying on the path she headed for the lake but there was no sign of him when she got there. Surveying the area as she scratched the back of her head, suddenly she spotted him by some nearby trees.
"Herb!" she cried out as she ran towards him.

Herbert suddenly dissapeared from view.

Chris stopped dead in her tracks. Had he just disappeared!? Did he do it on purpose!? Wait, since when could Herbert disappear!?
"Herb???" she tentatively called out again.

He breathed, seeing Chris run up to him and stop. He frowned. He was right in front of her? He breathed. He still felt like an outsider, but Chris coming after him really threw off what he thought. He thought she'd be way too mad at him to actually chase after him.
"Err, Chris? I'm in front of you?"

Was he ignoring her? He hadn't responded and he'd just turned invisible!?
"Herb!?" she called again.

He felt weird emotions and suddenly he was back, standing right in front of Chris, the light bending around his body.
"Hey...," he said awkwardly. He started as music hit his ears from afar... Ravespace was starting. "You mind if we don't talk here? Too... quiet. Want to head to the event.
(OOC: I have dbsbabe's permission). Chris nodded, looking concerned, so together they exited the woods and headed to the club.

The Redeemer and Olem appeared in the fresh air, and the Redeemer let go of Olem's hand.
'So, what did you think of Ruin and Green Blink?' he asked, his voice clearly disdainful of them.

"Blink was pathetic in all honesty. How someone with teleportation gets beaten up by barely trained students incredulous, but how she got caught is beyond me" Olem sneered, rolling down his sleeves. Ruin. Ruin was unsubtle and belligerent. I would've expected more out of a vigilante that's supposed to be top of Olympus' hit list." Olem spat on the ground "and his casual disregard for civilian lives makes my blood boil". He threw on his coat, and extinguished his cigarette on the back of his left glove. "What's your opinion on them?"

'My opinion?' the Redeemer repeated, thinking. 'Isn't it obvious? A pair of fools,' he scoffed, pacing. 'Not because they can get themselves beaten by students,' he added; 'but because they don't fight for anything. They represent what is wrong with the world of the superhumans. Petty, and vindictive! They might as well not exist. And if I'd been there...' he muttered menacingly.
He stopped to face Olem. 'They are a symptom of Olympus; the world order is a lie. We live lies, hiding our true nature, and pandering to the masses. Olympus represents all of that!' he shouted, growing more angry. He punched one of the trees and ripped through it. It crashed to the ground beside him. His voice calmed a bit. 'Do you understand?' he asked, looking at Olem. 'What do you think?'
