Aurora went to help Lucio, but Ed was already on it. She settled back down onto her stall and stared at the pencil that lay amongst the disrespected corpse of the wasted tomato. She would lament over it later.
“Well that suits me fine. Boring is what I like.” She pushed her mug to the side. “I've lasted the last couple of years without getting involved in anything too big, so even if someone does try to get involved with the,-” She attempted to remember the full name of the Quantum Wave Repulsor Engine, but settled for her usual name. “-the machine, we won't get a look in on the action.” Aurora tapped her chin in thought. “Although, I wouldn't say no to being saved by one of those muscular super humans.”

Signe entered the Café with her laptop under her arm. Even though she had finished unpacking, she did not particularly want to spend time in her small room right now. She'd figured either the Café or the Library, and guessing the librarians would not have been too happy with her not-work within the library, she had decided to come here. Besides, that place was far to gloomy a place to be alone in when you have books to write. Despite everything Mor and For had succeeded in getting her out. She could tell them that in her next Skype call. After getting herself a hot chocolate, Signe sat down on a table by herself and continued writing in English. Where was she up to? Yes, Sigyn had seen the fabric of reality fall and had been attacked by a draugr... Then she had been attacked by the troll. Right. She had to battle the troll, and she was cold and unprepared, with only the draugr's axe for defence. Signe smiled softly to herself. It made her look a lot more pretty and rosy-cheeked than she normally did. She glanced down at a small notepad at her side, wrote the words "Husk Ravnen" down and then after circling it went back to her story.
"The troll's gigantic club barely missed her, scraping the skin from her forehead as she threw herself hard to the right..."

Just then, Herbert approached, tentatively. "Hey there. I don't suppose any of you know where the history department is? Because I am pretty lost and I just got on campus". Herbert looked pretty out of his depth; his experience with girls, even ones who weren't paying him the slightest attention, was new.

Lucio had finally recovered from the vicious attack on his throat by the hot chocolate. He turned to look at the new person; taller than him and fairly thin, but friendly enough. "I honestly have no idea. Maybe it's by classics? That's where I've got to go at some point but I have no clue where it is either, I only arrived here a few days ago. Aurora here might know, she's a third year" he said as he gestured towards the pink-haired girl.

Aurora looked at the new person. She felt very outnumbered by Freshers at this point. “Your lectures will be in the Arts and Humanities building. It's a bit of a maze inside. Oh, and when you walk through the main entrance, you will be on the second floor. Floors 0 and 1 are basement levels.” She had had to learn that the hard way. She also had to be rescued by the Porters on the first day of lectures because she went missing in the Arts and Humanities block. “It's difficult to find your way around the building though, so it's best to get a map. You're all going to be in that building come to think about it. If you want, I can walk you there and maybe we can have a look at the SU or the accommodation block after? I'm stuck in the accommodation block this year. I was meant to stay off campus with friends, but that fell through.” She glared out the window.

"The accommodation block--" Ed started, turning around to stick her pencil back behind her ear and smearing tomato across her eyebrow. "You reminded me, I meant to unpack before lessons start and I'm living out of 'em. Drop by sometime, Aurora, Lucio--" she levelled a finger at her newest friend, whether he knew it or not. "We ain't done talking about your tiny town and foreign country and Station Militia."
She got up from her chair, snagging her tea along the way but abandoning her uneaten one and a half sandwiches. "Good luck finding your history department, kid," Ed said, clapping her hand on Herbert's shoulder on the way out.

Signe glanced at the people nearby. Luckily the question had already been answered but put in a little input in herself. "Expect to be lost. The Humanities block is a maze. If you accept it now you will feel better when it does." Her voice was soft and had a gentle Danish purr to her accent.

Aurora bid her farewell to Ed, thinking that she'd not very likely see her very often for the rest of the year.
Aurora then turned her head around. She subtly sized up the Dane; Aurora didn't recognise her. “Hey,” she started, a little uneasy that the group had been eavesdropped on, not even realising that the guy's question wasn't actually directed at their group, but was in fact meant for the Dane. “I haven't seen you on campus before.” She already knew about the infuriating Arts and Humanities block though, so Aurora began to think that the foreigner wasn't a fresher. It wouldn't be the first time she had met someone she had never met on campus before, yet were not new. “Are you an oldie? Or just a well organised newbie?”

"Second year," replied Signe, without taking her eyes from the computer screen. "History, so I know what that place is like." She finished her sentance on the computer and looked up. Her green eyes absorbed the girl's unusual appearance and she jumped to the first thing that came to mind in the way of conversations - compliments. "I like your hair."

Aurora nodded her head. She should really register more faces she sees around campus. Then the compliment came. “Oh-” She subconsciously brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, almost as though she was trying to hide it. “Thanks. It's kind of annoying to maintain though. I was thinking of going back to my original colour.” Her traditional motivational coffee had become a more lively event this year. Was it foreshadowing?

OK. Conversation had started. Now to try and maintain it. "What colour was that?" Signe asked.

“Brown.” She turned her gaze to Herbert's hair. “A little darker than his hair.” Then she looked at Lucio's head. “But nowhere near as dark as Lucio's.” She made a concious effort to not use 'Bella'. “Are you a natural blonde?”

"Yes," said Signe. "I've always been blonde. It's a lot more common where I come from."
