Chris relaxed her muscles, powering herself down, releasing the aura she had called forth to help Olem and Alex. She stood there utterly amazed by what she had just seen Herbert achieve with his powers but she was even more astonished by this new black streak alongside Herbert's blue and silver.
This new tall, dark figure who had demolished 200 Drones held her attention so much that she hadn't even noticed Kirk! She hadn't even noticed the smooth entrance of a rather cool looking guy!
Who was the black streak!?
The aura she had surrounded herself in had seemed to prevent Olem's death cloud from affecting her or it at least slowed it down. Once she had released it however, she soon collapsed to her hands and knees, vomiting violently but at least she missed the bag of food.

Alex looked down at the sound of someone's voice. Some blonde guy he was pretty sure he'd bumped into earlier in the week. In the next second, he was gone, flung back by a sudden streak of movement. Herbert. This day kept getting weirder.
As he slowly let gravity reclaim its hold on him, Alex was lowered back to the ground, beside Chris. He landed just as Olem's sickness cloud faded away and watched as Chris made a mess on the pavement.
'Classy,' he said. His gaze shifted back to Herbert and the Drones and... what was that other streak? 'This is getting out of control. End it, Herbert...'

The man in black looked around at the superhumans converging on him, his gaze disdainful. He cocked an ear as he walked beside the slowed Herbert, hearing something in the distance.
'Olympus,' he growled slowly, gazing into the distance for a while. Then his gaze refocused on Herbert.
'Olympus is a lie. You can join me in my new world, or die in theirs,' he said softly. 'I will be their redeemer. Tell the others.' He paused for a second. 'Oh, and work on that speed, kid. You're looking slow.'
Then he pulsed again as he teleported away and time returned to normal around Herbert. He was gone without a trace, except a lingering blackness.

Herbert's exploded forward, skidding to a stop as he coat caught on fire. He imagined everyone around him had just seen a blur, but Herbert... he'd seen something else. A man with unimaginable power.
All the robots were dead, appearing to have been destroyed by Herbert's trick. Even now Herbert wasn't sure himself how they'd been destroyed.
Panting, he threw off his jacket, stamping it into the ground, now only in his pyjamas, a t shirt and baggy bottoms with shoes. The man in black had said Olympus was coming; Herbert bet he'd been the only one who'd been working fast enough to see that. He also felt a little sick from Olem; he hadn't been able to burn it off completely, but it wasn't an immediate problem right now, just a discomfort.
What the man had said, about Olympus... why had he talked to him? Herbert's parents were part of Olympus! He'd be the last person to turn.
He looked back at his friends who were watching him with expressions he couldn't quite understand...

Breaking her window and climbing out had been easy, even if she suspected her hand would be bruised for weeks. Dropping onto the grass below with a quiet grunt, Ed had been faced with the choice of where to go. She'd scrubbed at her nose viciously and grumbled; there were too many smells and she couldn't make sense of any of them. It was like getting yelled at in a language you didn't understand until you felt overwhelmed and stupid. The sounds of more robots, and sirens, and maybe fighting were clear enough though and that's where she headed, in her dusty pajamas and armed with only a notepad and pencil.
Ed loped towards The Street, coming to a stop when she noticed the many obliterated remains of Olympus robots. She'd definitely ran straight into trouble and she looked around at the people gathered. She recognised a bunch of them but was coming up short on names. Had they introduced themselves? Had she, before she'd gone and gotten all furry? Her own mum probably wouldn't recognise her.
Ed held up her hands, hoping they wouldn't get all punch-happy before she could explain. She wasn't a robot -- she thought at least. Were there such things as furry robots? She'd have to do more research. "Hi?" she said. "Err, wha's... goin' on? There wa' ah esplosion, n' ligh'? N' now the r, rrr -- guar'uns are n' pieces?" Ed's teeth made talking a nightmare -- maybe she should stick to her notepad until she figured out how not to slice her own tongue to ribbons.

As the students gathered in the Street, more of the all-too-familiar metal footsteps approached. Appearing through gaps between buildings and flooding in to view at either end of the Street, a platoon of Guardian Drones surrounded the group. They took a defensive stance, their legs parted, hands out at their sides and ready to attack, all perfectly still, forming an impenetrable wall. 'All superhumans, remain still!' one of the Drones called out. 'All superhumans in this vicinity will stand down. You are under arrest!' The students, tensed ready to defend themselves. One Drone stepped forward. In the next instant, before anyone else could react, a disc of pure golden energy swept out of the sky. In a single, swift motion, it decapitated the front Drone and ricocheted, bouncing between all of the Drones at one end of the Street, slicing through their metal bodies and leaving them lifeless on the ground. With a small sonic boom, a figure dropped from the sky. She stood up straight, her body decked out in a blue and black costume, a golden emblem on her chest and blue cape hanging from the pads on her shoulders. Facing the students, this newcomer raised both her hands, another disc of energy appearing in each of her palms. She flung them forwards and the two discs sailed over the students' heads, slicing down the block of Drones at the other end of the Street in a whirling storm of light, before exploding out of being. Olympus troops dropped from the sky in armoured black uniforms, their faces hidden behind the visors of their helmets. They surrounded the superhero, falling immediately into formation and facing the Drones that still lined either side of the Street. Jet thrusters lined their armour and cut out as they hit the ground. The troops raised their weapons, all holding what looked like slick futuristic guns, and pulled the triggers. Short-range, directional EMP blasts took down the remaining Drones, which fell quickly and heavily to the floor. 'Fall back, keep watch,' said the superhero. The troops spread out along the Street as she marched over to the students with swift purpose. 'Do you have any idea how many millions of pounds' worth of damage you have done to Olympus technology today? You have, with apparent ease and ruthlessness, destroyed countless of Olympus Guardian Drones, stationed on this campus. Which, given the circumstances, I would say makes all of you ideal candidates to become Olympus heroes.' There was a moment of silence, as her severity turned to a faint smile of pride. 'I'm Soraya Khan. But most people know me as Champion. And I'm the Interim leader of Olympus in the absence of Captain Omega. On behalf of Olympus, I apologise sincerely for the actions of our Drones today. As far as our current intelligence is aware, when the Repulsor Engine failed, the resulting explosion affected their circuitry and compromised their safeguard protocols. As a result, the sudden and unexpected surge in superhuman activity triggered their threat response programming. Your actions, however, showed quick thinking and impressive use of your newfound powers. It would be a shame were you not to take advantage of those gifts.' Champion stepped away, her team of armed troops converging on her as she did so. 'In light of the fact you had all only just discovered your powers when you came under attack today, we will not be pressing charges for the unauthorised public use of your abilities. However, I speak on behalf of Olympus when I say we would be honoured if you would join our team and put those powers to good use. Given today's events, we're going to be opening a recruitment centre on campus very soon. And all Guardian Drones will, of course, be immediately withdrawn.' 'Ma'am,' said one of the troops, 'we've got reports of another group of new supers, near the university lake.' 'I hope to see you all soon,' said Champion, before her and her team took to the skies once more, leaving the students alone, safe and with a life-changing new opportunity to consider. (OOC: Merry Christmas, everyone! Your present is a brand new Olympus leader!)

Ed approached one of the decapitated robots and gingerly picked up on of the heads lying on the ground. It was definitely dead, or deactivated, or whatever you called it when robots where deactivated in a permanent kind of way. She turned it over a couple of times in her hands but electronics weren't really her thing. For lack of a better idea, she brought the head up to her face and give it a quick sniff. Ed immediately felt like an idiot and dropped the head at her feet. The robot had smelled like she imagined robots usually did, like metal and rubber. There was something else too though, a kind of not-smell. Maybe that was also because of the machine?
Ed slumped onto the ground, landing in a heap on her butt. They really hadn't known what the machine was going to do when they turned it on. Now there was superheros, and million of pounds worth of damage she had somehow been implicated in, and she was still only in her pajamas. This was not how she imagined her first day of university going. "Wha' the fuck?" she said aloud to nobody in particular.
((she's amazing look at her i'm in love))

Olem groaned and rolled over and lay on the street, staring up at sky. He turned his head, either way and noticed a ostentatiously dressed super being talking to people as the drones ran off. He also noticed a large amount of very sick people. "Fuck this" he muttered and closed his eyes, going back to sleep.

Herbert was completely drained and electricity was gently flickering over his skin... and it hurt, like bee stings. Resolved not to run for a bit, he staggered over to Chris, Alex and a groaning Olem.
"So, what about it? Olympus and everything. At least it's finally over," he panted. Looking at Chris he smiled. "Nice work," he turned to Alex, "and, dude I'm sorry for being a brat. Just, forgive the pun, but I kinda ran away with myself." He groaned. "This is my life; subject to running puns forever."

Chris painfully looked up at Herbert as he spoke. She was still down on all fours trying to keep the sandwiches down but still managed to return his smile, she wasn't so ill as to not be able to keep up her flirting.
Suddenly, she felt a rush coming up from her stomach, pushing through her throat and eventually coming out of her mouth as she spewed in quite an explosive fashion.
"Goddamn tuna mayo," she mumbled to herself before sitting back up, on top of her knees.
Chris didn't want to think about making such a big decision as to whether or not join Olympus at the moment, she was still feeling pretty rough.
"So what do you think we should do?" She asked, looking up at Alex.

Olem groaned and sat up, watching Chris throw up all over the pavement. He winced, knowing he probably caused that, and looked towards the other two. Herbert was mumbling about Olympus, so maybe he didn't dream about some spangly clad women that came from the heavens. He picked himself up, but his legs started to wobble beneath him, so he quickly scuttled towards a wall, and leaned on it for support.
"Olympus can fuck off" he growled, sweat forming on his brow from having got up too quickly after releasing his power as he did. He paused, and quickly checked on the students he had attempted to save. They were all on the floor, groaning, some covered in their own sick, others with blood dribbling out of their mouths from hacking it up earlier. One of them hatefully glared at him, and Olem turned away. He needed to get control over his power if he was gonna achieve anything more than being a guinea pig somewhere, or dead. He preferred the latter option. "If I'm going to use these powers for anything it's going to be my way, with no big overwhelming power holding my leash" he spat a wad of blood onto the floor "After all, who's gonna stop them, if they decide everything they do is the correct thing? Normal people are powerless to stop them".

Ed shook her head, trying to knock herself out of her funk. There were -- she needed to find out what had happened. Nobody could tell her what was happening, she had to find it out for herself.
The tall, grumpy-looking man leaning up against a wall -- Ed recognised him. They'd shook hands? The whole Street smelled like a sick room, sour and closed up, and it cast a pall over the whole area that was almost visible. He was at the centre of it, radiating the smell, and Ed scrubbed at her nose again. The people lying crumbled on the ground, like they'd all had their strings cut, they smelled of it too. Except the kiddo in only the burned remains of his pajamas; he smelled like a radiator that had been turned on for the first time that year, burning dust. They were probably the ones responsible for the robots, so that was were Ed went.
Ed walked over to them, slowly, and trying not to step in a robot. "Only dogs have leashes," she said, speaking slowly and carefully. "Olympus is superheroes, they're supposed to help us. They -- they didn't -- I heard, I can smell --" she took a deep breath. "We need to know what happened at the Quantum thing. And Captain Omega."

Herbert turned towards the new voice and nearly crossed the world in shock. "Fuck balls on a stick!" He cried, backing away from the large wolf like creature walking towards him. Collecting himself, he peered closer, recognising the voice, that way of speaking.
"Ed? I'm sorry to be rude, but what happened? You're... a dog thing," he blushed, "sorry, I mean, oh God, what a stupid thing to say". He obviously was ashamed at having said that and changed the subject quickly. "Erm, Ed, Captain Omega is dead... I... I know Olympus wasn't here but we can't blame them for everything. Olem, Ed... maybe ease up on them a bit." He rubbed his face, tired. "I don't know what I'll do." He helped Chris to her feet, turning away from Alex, Ed, Chris and the distant Olem slimped against the wall.
"Guess my parents will expect me to join."

"Olympus was here," Ed growled -- literally growled, the sound rumbled through her chest and out between her teeth. It startled the crap out of her and she took a physical step back. "Those were their guardians you destroyed. They were here to protect us and they were the biggest threat today. I don't like liars, kid."
Ed scrubbed at her nose, trying to get rid of the smell of blood and dust still lingering there. She'd been stuck in her room and made to listen as the robots bullied and hurt the people who'd been told they were safe, made intimately familiar with what fresh blood smelled like. Captain Omega -- "Are you sure," she said quietly. "Isn't he, I thought he was invincible." It seemed stupid to say it out load. Nobody was invincible, or flawless, or as shiny as they tried to pretend to be. If she were in one of her books, she would take a drag on a cigarette and reflect on how everyone was corrupt or something, maybe gaze into a her whiskey before downing it. Ed just felt tired though.
"Hey, c'mon," she said to Chris, going over to help her up. Ed took her elbow, mindful of her -- claws? "Let's get you some help. Olympus won't fall down today whatever we do."
