April stopped hitting Gilbert.
"The report," they both said listlessly and covered each other's eyes.

Lucio's body exploded into light again. It was nowhere near as bright as it was before, however. Once he felt the cold slab underneath him, Lucio just lay there, letting his body get used to being alive again. He wasn't going to be all scared again in Tellasite. He was going to just relax for a minute or two...

April approached this time. Gilbert held her back; the report also mentioned he would be groggy. They waited until Lucio looked fully awake and alert before April approached. "Lucio? Can you hear me? We're going to take you to my office, get your hot chocolate and then they're waiting for you in the training arena. Also, we have questions."
"One or two," Gilbert supplied.
"About death," April said.
"The Redeemer," he added.
"Lots of-"
"-fun stuff," Gilbert finished her sentence.

Lucio cracked open an eye. Good, Voltage was hanging back. He opened both eyes properly, and swung his legs off the side of the slab. "Yes, that's sounds good. Hot chocolate, I mean. As the Tellasite poet Aliguino Calperdi said: <If that bearded idiot comes near me again I will slap him, so help me God.>" he smiled, and fervently hoped that neither of them spoke Tellasite.

April did speak a little actually! PR and all; did you know those small cultures breeded 5.2% of all supers?! Oh wow! But it was rusty so she just got stuff about beard and slaps. At least, she thought it was rusty based off that.
She smiled at Lucio and they all moved away from the morgue to April's office. There Lucio was given new, clothes. A white cotton shirt and comfortable lounging trousers. He was sat on April's bed (there for when she wanted to glimpse the future) and they took up chairs opposite him. Voltage and Quickstep themselves were outfitted not in full costume but tight black jumpsuits with their identity name on the side of the breast and their personal symbol on the right shoulder and the Olymous one on the left. They were comfortable and made of breathable fabric. Every member got one for comfortable wear.
Gilbert handed Lucio his hot chocolate and smiled. "Sorry about zapping you," he admitted.
April raised her eyebrows. "I apologise for my husband; he's adorable and stupid at time," she said fondly. Then she locked her grey eyes onto Lucio exactly as Herbert would.
"So, Lucio. Thanks for joining Olympus," she smiled. "We hope you enjoy it. But we'll cut to the chase," her voice was warm but she sounded urgent. "We have some questions to ask before you join your friends in training. Firstly, what do you see when you die?"

Lucio sipped the hot chocolate. Hoo boy, they really didn't pull any punches when it came to questions here did they? He drank deeply as he tried to find a way to describe everything without sounding like a crazy person.
"Well... Everything goes black. Then next thing you know, I wake up, unharmed, in this open area in a forest. There's lots of grass and flowers, and a small river, and a big bit of stone, like where you would worship? Altar? Is that the word? Anyway, yeah. All I have to do to come back to the real world is touch this golden leaf circle. Apparently time doesn't pass there, too."

April and Gilbert exchanged smiles. "That sounds nice," April turned back to Lucio. "We're not asking that for us though. Olympus is interested in your powers, how they work. What you have is special. I don't think we've had someone who's immortal, at least, not in your way. You'll probably have to record that down later." She turned to Gilbert before saying quietly. "Not genetic. So Jack-"
Gilbert shook his head "I doubt Jack could have replicated it properly." April nodded turning back to Lucio.
"Sorry to bring you back to it, but when you were with Herbert... he mentioned the Redeemer. What did you see? Tell us everything, this is very important."

Lucio paused for a second as he tried to remember the events. "Well, I was on the helicoptero, trying to spot my friends, when time just... Stopped. Like, you could see the air stand still. I could move but that was it. Everything else was frozen. He was standing in the 'coptero as well, in this big purple armour. I think he was trying to be intimidating, but it didn't really work because he was bent over due to the low ceiling." Lucio chuckled at the memory. "He told something about going with him to help him seal a deal or something. I may have gotten sasquatchy- that is the term yes? Or is it sassy? Anyway, he didn't like me using logic and powers of observation so he blew up the 'coptero in a tantrum. The pilot was..... He was killed instantly. At least that's what The Sculptor said- Mierida! The Sculptor! Is he alright?" Lucio suddenly remembered his fate of being thrown through a few trees. He felt incredibly guilty and hung his head.

April and Gilbert exchanged looks. "He's gotten more powerful," Gilbert said before turning to Lucio sadly. "Louis will live... but whilst we admire your 'sass' be sure to take a man like this seriously. His pride is easily wounded. His crippling of the Sculpter was a message. Probably the helicopter too-"
"It's not your fault," April said. "You tried your best to handle a situation that got out of control. What happened after he took down Louis?"

James kicked his heels, hunched over, elbows on knees. He was pretty much the most useless person in the room. Everyone else was wearing fancy costumes and he was just sitting in a stab-proof olympus jacket and sweatpants. How was he to know that the costume designer was some crazy-temperamental italian guy?
Champion was a pretty charismatic speaker, but she didn't usually need to get rookies pumped. It wasn't quite working today. They should have started with something more gentle, like drinks. Besides, they had barely even met. And in the last week he had only managed two abilities, the blast of UV light, and a soft glow.
"huh, yeah, goblet of thingy..." was all he could say as he snapped out of his thoughts.

Lucio relaxed. He'd have to pay Louis a visit afterwards, see if he could help. "Well, after that he grabbed me by the scruff of the neck and reported me to Herbert. He was near enough dead-Herbert, not the purple bastard. He made me heal him, ordered me to, even. I wasn't going to let my friend die, of course, but I wanted to let the evil grape know that I was doing it on my terms, not his. So I spat in his face. I healed Herbert and then he snapped my neck. That's it, really." Lucio finished off the hot chocolate in one last gulp, licking his lips to get the last few bits of squirty cream that remained.

April nodded as Gilbert rubbed his face. "Guess this proves to Champion that the Redeemer does exist, whatever she's trying to out forward."
"Doesn't want to start panic," Gilbert observed. "Like the old days."
They both turned back to Lucio. "That's it," April said, "but I have one more thing to add before we send you off to train." She leaned in closer. "I don't suppose you know if Herbert has shown any signs of abilities. And I'm not talking about this superspeed he had, he mentioned that. I mean anything else because he seemed rather shifty when he was here earlier. I know this may seem self serving, Lucio, but," they both looked guilty, "you'll have to forgive us being parents. And Herbert has always been a little," she didn't know how to phrase that, "a little over enthusiastic. he could get himself hurt, like yesterday. She waited for Lucio's answer.

Ed honed in on James, who was unfortunate enough to speak up first. "Don't be like that, Globox," she said, walking over to nudge his shoe with her foot. "You're the only ominously glowing thing around. Probably no more deadly than your average hedge maze in there. C'mon. Up and at 'em, sunshine. Time to prepare to defend the world."

Lucio cocked his head as he thought. "I don't think so? I think he might have mentioned something about being able to understand people's emotions, but I'm not sure if he meant that as a power." He smiled at the two concerned parents, "But if I learn anything to the contrary I will tell you, yes? Now then, am I free to go and do whatever this training exercise is? Will it involve more beatings? I hope not."

James hurriedly stopped glowing - If he even was in the first place, metaphors were becoming difficult these days - and sat up straight.
"Was that a glowbox/Globox pun? cause if it was I'm gonna need to use that"
he smiled nervously
"and don't knock hedge mazes, my uncle got lost in one for three days once. Of course, he was HAMMERED"
