Aurora laughed. "I hope you can get it completely under your control sometime." She began to leave the woods to head towards the accomodation block. "Yeah, I think I'll get it looked at. Thanks for all your help, Olem. It's been nice to calm down, talk to someone and learn about what's happening to us." The trees began to thin out and she could see onto the green.

"Yeah" Olem Muttered, walking alongside her towards the accommodation block.

(OOC: A couple of days later from the above, having come from The Street.)
The man in his black armour and hood pulsed as he appeared on the edge of the woods, having teleported, and stood shrouded in shadow. He waits for Olem silently, hidden.

it was at this point that Chris also entered the woods, making her way to the lake. She made sure to stick to the path to optimise jogging rather than having to jump over logs.
When she reached the lake she took a moment to pause. Taking a sip of water, she stared out across the water, soaking in the view. It was very picturesque. Not something you would expect to find in the middle of a metropolis. Carrying on, she jogged round to the other side of the lake where it was less likely anyone would come across her.
She set her bag down next to a tree stump by the shore after taking some more sips of water. Lumbering herself up again, she began stretching, ready to test her powers. Chris hoped she was in a remote enough area as not to harm anyone if she lost control. Though maybe her powers weren't that powerful? But that was precisely what she was there to find out.
"Okay? Where do I start?" Chris said aloud. She began with simple combos. Jab, jab, hook, kick. Jab, jab, hook, kick. She performed several of her martial arts moves and combos with high kicks, jumping kicks, various other fist combos. Despite not having called forth her powers to surround her body as she previously had, Chris could still feel that her moves were stronger than before. Even if her 'normal' state she could feel some power surging through her entire body. She was faster, a lot faster.
Chris began throwing her fists in a wild flurry to test her new found speed (OOC her speed is more to do with how quickly she can throw a punch as opposed to running. Her speed boost is also no way near anything like what Herbert has, she's more like a cheetah). Left, right, left, right, left, right. The more she did it, the faster her punches became. Soon they were so fast, her fists just looked like skin coloured blurs in front of her (OCC sped up to about the same as a tennis serve so 130-140 mph).
All of a sudden, the yellow aura burst forth from her entire body. Shocked by its sudden appearance, Chris was also thrilled. She began going back over all of her moves and combos. The massive increase in strength, speed and agility was phenomenal! She could feel the power coursing through her like rapids. She paused for a moment.
Chris now remembered that she had been able to discharge small shockwaves from both her body and her hands. She walked out further towards the lake and stretching out her hand, she pushed some of the energy out down her arm. She just imagined what she'd done when she'd sent Olem skidding across the floor. There was a sudden release as a shockwave rippled across the water.
Feeling a little drained by all of her intense training, Chris sat down on the tree stump and downed a bottle of lucozade. Yeh, she could get the hang of this!

Making his way from the street, Olem walked towards the woods, stopping at the edge of it and wondered where the man in black power armour was.

The man in black appeared next to Olem suddenly, a pulse of energy like a gust of wind whipping over Olem as he appeared.
'Good, you're here,' he said briskly. 'Now, before we begin, two things. Call me Redeemer first of all. It comes from a longer epithet to a hidden name. That's the first curtesy I am extending to you. 'The second is honesty. Only Olympus lies, I do not,' he said firmly. He paced slowly as he spoke, walking along the edge of the forest. His body was watchful and restless. 'I have only met someone like you once, and whilst he certainly showed me what he could do, it wasn't a very productive meeting. So I'm going to teach you based on what I know about me, and we'll work to discover you.'
He stopped pacing and faced Olem directly. 'I chose this place very specifically for training, so if you would, follow me? And tell me, what do you feel when you activate your power? What have you felt, or done, in the past when you've used it?'

"The Redeemer eh? Fair enough" Olem remarked, shielding his face with his arm from the blast of energy. His second statement made him pause. 'Olympus lies? So this guy has a grudge against the supers, maybe he was expelled? Maybe he hunts them?' the latter thought made him quite happy 'hunting supers will definitely be an improvement over working for them - wait he's met someone like me? Does that mean he's met someone from that group?' his mind was alight with different questions for the 'Redeemer', but he decided against it for now.
"What do I feel when I use my power? When I was fighting the drones, all I felt was irritation, like I was fighting bugs, but they didn't require much energy to destroy". He stared in the Redeemers eye holes "But when I fucked up Chris, and later Herbert, I only felt anger. I've felt anger whenever my power has been at it's strongest" He looked away, slightly ashamed at what he said. "It was what caused me to nearly kill some kid that I barely knew".

'That's as I expected,' the Redeemer said thoughtfully. 'You channel your power through emotion, of course, and of course you spread disease; angry thoughts equal angry things.'
'The greater control you have over your emotions, the more control you'll have over your powers. Simply put, if you can keep your emotions steady, you might be able to touch people again.' The Redeemer shrugged. 'Maybe. But you won't gain any more power; you'll stay static, stuck as you are. And you don't want that. You want to control power, not run from it.' The Redeemer stepped closer to Olem.
'The reason I have such power is because my emotions are... extreme to say the least. Experience has shaped my rage, dark things which make me stronger than I ever believed...' As he spoke, his first tightened and the leaves around them started to brown and shrivel. He was shaking, lost in thought but then it stopped and he straightened up. The leaves returned to their natural green.
'You need to harness that anger Olem. You need to grab hold of it and imagine all the things you hate, all the wrongs, all the injustice. Everytime someone betrayed you, every time someone let you down. Think of what you hate the most, and you can be unstoppable. Then, you'll be on the road to unlocking your potential.'
He pointed to the trees around them. 'Try it now on these trees. Dig deep Olem. Once you've mastered that anger, and stabilise it, you'll have greater control but your powers will be amplified beyond what you could imagine.'

Olem was shocked "you want me to kill a tree? Last time I tried on a tree, I gave it a bit of rot, but the whole thing?". He gritted his teeth, not one to show weakness in front of a stranger, and walked purposefully towards a tree. He gripped it with both hands, and delved deep into his memories, searching for things that matched The Redeemers description. He thought of the times when he saw his friends shot down during his time as a soldier, of the anger he felt as he gunned down the fucker who caused it. Memories of watching women and children die in front of him due to some prick and his ideals. With those thoughts pushed to the forefront of his mind and forced the energy into the tree. (OOC: you can describe what happens next, as I have no idea what you want to happen to it )

Having recharged herself, Chris was ready to continue her training. She had already discovered that the energy she could summon forth was a great enhancement to her strength and combat speed as well as being able to use it to discharge small shockwaves. Now it was time to see what else her aura could enhance. Chris powered herself up, the aura illuminating her entire body, she looked like a star burning brightly in the night sky. Feeling an enormous surge in power, she set off into the woods around her.
Chris went sprinting off and onto the beaten track, her speed was incredible! It wasn't just an enhancement for punches and kicks, it was an enhancement for her actual raw running speed. She was bounding through the forest, jumping over ditches, swinging off branches, vaulting over fallen trees. She felt so agile, so fast, so flexible. All these physical exertions she was performing with ease. The feeling was intense and unmatched by anything she'd ever felt before. Herbert was right, it was good to test her powers.
Bursting through the trees, Chris headed back down towards the lake, the aura still glowing around her. She skidded through the dirt as she came to halt. Luckily she did, otherwise she'd have ended up in the water. The exercise had taken it's toll on her though as she felt very drained again. She sat down on the tree stump and began digging through her bag of supplies, stuffing her face and downing more bottles of lucozade. It was extremely tiring, all the energy she expending, but Chris felt as if she could increase the duration she could sustain her power if she increased her own stamina. After all, all using her powers seemed to do was make her hungry so maybe that's all it was, burning through ones own natural energy and stamina. Chris pondered on these things as continued eating, looking out over the lake. It truly was a spectacular view.

(OOC: No problem! I'll describe what happens then and you can describe any after-effects on you/reactions and so on. ) Olem forced his energy into the tree and rot spread across the tree, breaking through the bark and devouring it's health. The Redeemer watched in silence until Olem stepped back, the tree rotted and dying. He nodded, satisfied. 'You see what you can do when you focus on what you want. It's more than just finding the anger; it's directing it towards a focused goal. With enough control, you could destroy this entire forest...' He gazed over the length of the trees and turned back to face Olem.

Olem quickly let go of the tree as it rotted around his hands. He was shocked. He'd actually killed the tree. He turned to face The Redeemer, his statement sounding like a challenge in his ears. "Do you want me to practice by slowly wiping out the trees in this forest? Or do you want me to kill them all at once?" he asked, raising an eyebrow towards the masked stranger. "I'm amazed that I managed to pull of that, even with your tuition" he paused, gritting his teeth "but a challenge is a challenge" and he took off his gloves, the air around his newly uncovered hands shimmering slightly. He walked towards a tree and gripped it hard, the bark starting to peel off and die as he touched it. He planted his feet, and focused, dredging up his anger. He forced the energy through his hands, and watched the rot start to spread through the tree.

The Redeemer watched silently as the rot began to spread through the tree. 'That's good. It's all about focus, and drawing up that emotion. But no, I don't want to destroy every tree here. I'm not a maniac,' he said lightly. It didn't sound entirely convincing. 'But two or three trees wouldn't be amiss if you can do it. Then we'll start on controlling those newly tapped emotions.' (OOC: Feel free to destroy some trees, or not! I'd advise against all of them because that's quick progress, but he's your character so do whatever you feel is most in line with him now! )

Olem concentrated, urging his powers to spread throughout the root system of the trees. He felt it begin to move towards a nearby tree, the grass darkening between them. He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding in, and his shoulders began to sag with the effort of keeping up the concentration. With a gasp he let go of the now dead tree, and fell to his knees, his breath coming out in ragged gasps. He looked around, and saw another tree had died near him, bringing his total to three. He gritted his teeth, and stood up, facing The Redeemer. His eyes hardened, and he looked back into the eye holes.
"What's next?" he growled, his body shaking from exertion as he willed himself forward.

The Redeemer looked satisfied.
'This is very good Olem. With just a little direction you're already beginning to grow more powerful than you could have imagined before!' He held up his hands: 'But I digress.'
He walked around the dead trees, his suit humming lightly.
'Next is a more difficult task; control. Anger amplifies your powers, but now you need to control them. You do that by keeping your emotions stable. It's an odd thing. I've found you can be as angry, as sad, as happy as ever but if that's the constant, you're on the path to controlling your powers. So I'll set you a task, and a question.'
'I want you to kill just one leaf in a single tree. It will teach you control, to work around other factors and get to that part you want. And with control, you will be able to touch people again.'
The Redeemer moved closer to Olem. 'As for my question, and this is pure curiosity you understand, what do you plan to do with your new-found powers?' he asked, nonchalantly.
