The on-campus restaurant has the slightly-too-sterile appearance of a school cafeteria. Grab a tray, choose your food from the counters and then find a seat at one of the small two- or four-person tables, or on one of the benches along the long tables that take up most of the space in here. Hot food is served daily, with an excellent Full English being served from 7-11am.

He'd been hunting him since the blast. Thomas felt something was strange about himself, something new... then he'd absorbed one of his roommates. Sucked out his talent at beer pong, of all things. It'd been more than passing strange. They'd been playing with their flat, Thomas putting on his face, and suddenly their hands touched. It had been a blur of motion after that; screaming people, calls for Olympus. However, when Olympus examined him they couldn't find anything... said it was probably a side affect of the blast. His roommate had been fine, though his aim was now off terribly when it came to beer pong. That was probably around the same time Thomas noticed the very opposite.
He tinkered with the idea, like one of his inventions and he'd come up with a hypothesis; if he could take talents and skills, could he also take powers? To that end he'd been chasing down the students confirmed to have exhibited powers. And now he was looking at one right now. Morris Hill; Olympus classified his power as 'Immunity'. He'd been able to resist all the various powers, such a mind control and other affecting powers. Of course he'd turned down a place in Olympus. What could he do with that power anyway, he said...
Thomas took a seat near where Morris was sitting with his friends and took out his watch. Not time yet. But soon.

He watched as Morris stood up, saying goodbye to his friends. Smirking, Thomas closed his pocket watch and and stood up, trailing the boy out of the hall. Morris veered left as he headed out, turning away for a secluded area. Just as Thomas thought he would... closing his pocket watch he followed the boy down a hill and in between some buildings; it had taken some work but apparently Morris smoked weed. His friends had tried to get him to stop but, well, here they were. Perfect for Id though... Morris always sought a secluded location to light up. Funny... Thomas would have speculated that those immunity powers would have extended to the effects of drugs too but perhaps not.
He quickened his pace and pushed into Morris as they entered the alley.
"Sorry," Morris said reactively.
"Don't think about it," Thomas smiled as he grabbed Morris throat and his wrist and slammed him against the wall. Thomas was taller and stronger than Morris was and he used this to his advantage to hold the down down.
"That was polite of you, because of course, I hit you, but you offered a condolence anyway. Strange, human behaviour," Thomas muttered.
"What do you want with me?" Morris cried.
"Scream, and I'll kill you," Thomas said seriously. "Actually, scratch that. Scream, you're going to die anyway," he said as he activated his power. A pull on his body, like the breath was being taken out of lungs ensured. A purple/white mist connected them as their bodies linked. Thomas constricted Morris' windpipe to stop his screaming a she held him, counting.
Tick tock... one... Morris was struggling so hard... two, he was clawing at Thomas' hand. Thomas gritted his teeth and held on... three... Thomas was turning white... four... one of his legs hit Thomas hard on the shin and Thomas squeezed tighter... five... maybe he should find a way to increase the speed... six... though honestly he didn't even know how long it would take... seven... he could feel his body 'changing' like he was realising a new feature... eight... Morris had stopped struggling now... nine... he could feel it petering off... ten. The sensation stopped and Thomas took a deep breath and he felt it there, the power filling his body. He also felt a multitude of other skills he needed to examine later. He also had a through knowledge of weed. Ah, the things you pick up.
Letting Morris' grey, lifeless body drop to the floor, Thomas put his hands in his pocket and started whisteling as he strolled off. Immunity... a lovely start. He'd heard the campus was overrun with superhumans who could give you diseases... or was it injuries? Didn't matter now, he imagined, as he felt the ability glowing in his chest, like a shield for his body.
Whistling a jaunty tune he veered off towards the street. The sun seemed so much brighter now.

Aurora was sat at a table alone with a burger. She didn’t usually eat there; which made it a good place to avoid Katie and Patrick. She scrolled through articles on her phone as she lazily ate her fries. Who deserved a spot of bad luck?

Aurora had made a mental list of filth that needed her attention. She put the last bite of her burger into her mouth and licked the grease off of her fingers. She cleaned up with the napkin and binned her rubbish. Her phone was put back into her bag. She would have to remember what Officer Dar had mentioned ‘two is a coincidence, three is a pattern.’ Aurora sighed; she would have to be careful if she was going to do this. She would get a coffee first and then have a shower.

Chris entered the cafeteria and grabbed a tray. She picked up a couple of burgers and helped herself to a very large portion of fries before picking up two cartens of orange juice. She then helped herself to a large muffin and cookie. She took a seat at one of the tables and placed her bag on the seat next to her, resting her hat on top of it. She let out a sigh before diving into her food in quite a piggish manner. What a first week and a half at uni it had been.

After she had finished gorging herself, Chris returned the dinner tray and headed off to go and see her lecturers.
