Far from the glamour and tourist-friendly sights, these towering and decaying blocks of council flats are a grim reality for many of the working class population of London.

'Alex!'
'Hey, Jess,' said Alex as he spotted the familiar face, her nose pierced, hair a mess, a grey hoodie hanging from her shoulders. 'Good to see you.'
'Yeah, you too. Not looking too bad, uni boy. How's it going, being all educated?'
'That place is fucked up as hell. So, you know, nowhere near as bad as here.'
He cast a cursory glance along the corridor of Greybank Tower. This had been his home, this was where he had grown up. Now he had a month until his brother's bank account would run dry, his would never be able to cover rent and their old flat would be taken from them. Although, that was supposing the building stayed under its current ownership.
'Got what you were asking for,' said Jess, handing Alex a folded piece of paper. An old letter from the landlord. Something of a rarity. 'What do you want with it, anyway?'
'I don't,' said Alex, unfolding it and checking the sender's address. 'Friend of mine wanted it.'
'Friend? Like a uni friend?'
'Not really. Sort of. It's complicated.'
'What sort of friend we talking about then?'
'The sort you'd rather avoid,' said Alex, pocketing the letter.
'Not your latest fuck buddy then?'
'Piss off!'
'Bet there have been a few though, right?'
'None of your business,' said Alex with a grin.
'Yeah there has! Got yourself a uni bird, haven't you?'
'How are things round here?' Alex asked, trying to change the subject.
'Dry on that front,' said Jess. 'Nobody else round here drinks with me like you did.' She nudged him with her shoulder.
'Leave it!'
A door opened a little distance from them. A bald man with a snarl fixed on his face stepped out, looking in both directions down the corridor. Alex recognised him immediately. Gregor was one of Bulmer's thugs. Whoever lived in the flat he had just appeared from must have fallen behind on rent and had the pleasure of Gregor beating the cash out of them.
'What you two looking at?' he grunted as he walked past.
Alex's hand clenched into a fist. Jess just looked away, having learnt to ignore Mr Bulmer's hired muscle.
'Hey, uh, what's in the bag?' she asked Alex.
He didn't answer. Just tightened his grip on the strap of the sports bag he had slung over his shoulder.
The next time Jess would see Gregory, he'd by lying at the bottom of a stairwell, his face bloodied, as an electronically deepened voice spoke from somewhere up above.
'Call the police. Tell them everything about Bulmer and his thugs. They won't hurt you anymore.'
When Jess saw who was speaking, she would do as he said, finally free from the fear Bulmer had instilled.

The Plague Doctor made his way through the dirt encrusted heart of London, navigating through streets filled with rubbish and other forms of detritus.
"Give me your fucking money!" a man shouted loudly, not caring for retribution as he laid into a crying woman. Plague Doctor knew the man, or at least the gang that he was proudly displaying his existence in. Olem crept up behind him, and grabbed his arms, and forced him to the floor, his knee pushed into the spine of the mugger. The man let out a strangled yelp, and the woman screamed, running away from the two.
"You have some information about the whereabouts of a certain person" Plague Doctor growled, forcing his knee harder into the guys back "it'd be in your best interest if you told me where he was"
"Fuck you" the man spat, trying to get himself out of the hold.
"Well, if you're going to be like that . . . " he trailed off, unsheathing one of his knives, and flipping the man around, where he witnessed The plague Doctors regalia for the first time. "Lets try for that answer, one more time" and he brought the knife down into to the man shoulder. He let out a blood curdling scream, blood beginning to leak around the knife as it stayed impaled in his shoulder.
"WHO! WHO DO YOU WANT?" the man screamed, thrashing beneath The Plague Doctors weight "I'll tell you anything, please just don't hurt me again". He was crying. Pathetic.
"Tell me where your boss is" Plague Doctor asked, twisting the knife in his shoulder. The man shrieked, his arms trying to get at the knife, but they were pinned beneath him.
"He-he's in a club!" the man cried.
"Which one?" he growled
"Snuff! It's called Snuff." tears were rolling down the man's face.
"Thank you, your help was most appreciated" The plague Doctor said, pulling his knife out with a vicious tug, a small fountain of blood spraying out of the now open wound. "Now, go find the nearest police station and turn yourself in for mugging. Or I will come back. Just for you".
"YES! OK!" the man said quickly, gritting his teeth against the pain. Plague Doctor stood up, loosening his grip on the man and watching him sprint away from him, his hand pressed into the wound in his shoulder.
'Snuff' Plague Doctor thought 'I'd better let Aurora know that's where we're headed'.

(OOC: Different day from above.)
Omen grasped her chest as she leaned against the dirty wall of the tower block. It was an unreal feeling; struggling to breathe while not feeling the strain on the lungs. Omen had no real sense of what limit her body was at. She was dressed in her loose clothes for now, her hair black instead of pink or blonde. A group of tracksuits headed toward the door. Skinny blokes, swearing loudly in their thick accents and they reeked of stale cigarettes and lager.
Omen narrowed her eyes and straightened up her posture. As they entered the building, she chased after them, willing them to keep the door open for her. “Don’t close it!” She chimed with a smile and they held the door open for her. They clearly didn’t recognise the woman but didn’t care enough to ask. Omen made her way to the elevator as the men disappeared up the first flight of stairs.
The elevator stank of urine and regret. Her blue gaze drifted up to the camera on the ceiling. It was broken; taken out by the residents. Omen was counting on that and took off her baggy top, switched to the black costume and attached the accessories. The elevator halted with a concerning clatter. Omen took a deep breath as she checked the article on her phone again.
Her target was Kelly Blythe. A lowly mugger who stabbed a woman for her valuables. Kelly got off with a lack of evidence, but it was more that it was lazy police work. They had the knife she used, the handbag that belonged to the woman she attacked and her finger prints were over everything. How was that a lack of evidence? Omen scowled as she thought about it. Kelly wasn’t worth a life-threatening disease, but she was the perfect host for the RDS. It wouldn’t kill her, but it would scare her and make her suffer enough to perhaps change her perspective on life.
Omen looked for the flat number she had acquired far too easily off of Google. Non-chalantly, she knocked on the door. A cloud of smoke and the distinct odour of weed curled around the door as it opened. A freckled face stood opposite Omen. Kelly was a little shorter and thinner. As soon as the bloodshot eyes soaked in Omen’s appearance, Kelly tried to slam the door shut.
A heavy black boot stamped down between the door and the frame. Omen forced her way into the apartment and closed the door behind her. Kelly tried to dash for her phone but Omen grabbed her wrist. “Only the guilty run.” Omen snarled and Kelly turned back to look at the vigilante, fear in her eyes.
“Fuck off! I ain’t done nothin’!” Her voice was shaky.
“Confess and this will be easier for the both of us. You stabbed a woman for material goods, didn’t you? You laughed all the way home from the station, getting off scott-free since no officer cold be bothered with the paper work.”
Kelly struggled in Omen’s grasp. “I ain’t fucking admitting nothin’!”
“This will get painful if you don’t confront what you did.” Omen’s grip tightened with the empty threat.
Kelly’s eyes widened. “Fuck you, freak! Yes, I fucking got off for it. Nothin’ you can do, the case if fucking closed.” Her speech was fast and rambling.
Omen let out a sigh. “Something bad is going to happen to you. If I were you, I would organise a doctor’s appointment.” Omen let go of Kelly’s wrist. “It will help you make a swifter recovery. If you ever do anything like that ever again, I will do a lot worse than my punishment today.” Kelly was a fully grown adult, RDS would just make her suffer for a while until her body repaired itself. She started to claw at her chest as pain spread across it. Kelly’s breaths were raspy and short but Omen picked the mobile phone off the side and threw it to where Kelly collapsed.
With that, the vigilante turned tail and went back into the same elevator, switching back to civilian clothes inside of it. She savoured taking in full breaths, even if the air in the tower block was stagnant, it was a relief to be able to breathe.
She swiftly removed herself from the scene.
That was Omen’s way. No killing, no fighting; just scaring and a pinch of suffering. Aurora had done her thorough background check on Kelly; she knew the kind of person she was. If prison and rehab hadn’t helped, then maybe fear would. Aurora sighed a little. Saving Rodney had taken her mind off of Signe, but she still felt a void in her heart.
‘I have to keep going on with my life. Signe wanted to ‘unburden’ me… She wasn’t a burden, but if I skulked around sulking, I doubt she would ever forgive me. Besides, I still need to work on Olem. I don’t think he’s broken beyond repair just yet. I’m not willing to give up… and people have started calling for Omen now. Maybe I can’t change everyone’s fate, but I can bloody well try!’

Olem's heavy boots splashed through a puddle as he made his way through the warren like streets of the estates. He stopped on the corner of a street, and looked at Chris.
"Are you ready for this? I'm going to shadow you the whole time. If you feel like you're in trouble make a hand gesture or something, and I'll jump him."

Chris switched off her aura and hovered back down to the ground. This place reminded her of home.
"Oh I'm ready hotshot," she threw Olem a wink, "and don't worry, me powering up should be enough of signal for you right?" she chuckled.

"Yeah, that should be enough" he grumbled through his mask. "Now go be bait, I'll be here if you need me"

Chris looked off down the street.
"Sooooooo, I just walk around and wait for this guy to jump me?"

"In a sense, he likes to target attractive girls of young adult age who are either going to a club or coming from one" he said, listing off the guys patterns.

"Well then, off into the night I go," Chris smiled as she began to skip off down the road before walking normally. She walked along the part of the estate that headed towards the bars and nightclubs, striding confidently, making sure to have a smile on her face. This creep wasn't going to jump her if she didn't look the part of party girl she thought.

Chris continued to walk. The streets were quiet, eerily quiet. Perhaps it was because it was a weekday. She shrugged and continued to walk, pretending to doodle on her phone.

Chris stopped underneath a streetlamp as she meant to in order to concentrate on sending out a text. Her head was down and her fingers twitch over the screen but her eyes kept scanning from side to side. Not thinking anyone was approaching, she carried on walking.

Olem took a quick break to answer a text before resuming his shadowing of Chris.
