South London estates

It had been a while since the labyrinth. Lucio was able to relax and recuperate on his own, away from others. He was lying in his room, curtains drawn and lights out, just doing nothing, when his phone buzzed: Olympus were putting him on call tonight in with a small area of an estate to keep watch over. Apparently some of the higher-up heroes were busy and they wanted to see how well the newer heroes could deal with small things. There'd be a more experienced group of heroes watching over the newbies to assist them, which was a relief, but Lucio was still incredibly nervous.
He donned his costume (still smelling of smoke from the labyrinth) and made his way to the meet-up, arriving a bit late. He was allocated a few streets of the Elsingham estate, a fairly deprived area with high petty crime levels, as well as a recent spate of stabbings. Espereus suspected that he was given this one due to his healing factor, which didn't exactly alleviate his fears. He decided to just wander around the area and keep an eye out: he hadn't really received much training on how Olympus heroes were supposed to actually work. The time reached midnight, two hours before he was supposed to finish, and still nothing had happened. He'd befriended a cat and had spent a happy few minutes playing with it until a voice in his ear reprimanded him. At this point, he was standing in a small green space, looking up at the sky, muddied over by the mass of streetlights. He missed the stars: at Station Milita, you could see perfectly into the night sky due to the lack of civilisation, and you could count and name every star all night and still not be near halfway done by the sunrise. Here... nope. Nothing.
He smelt the problem a few seconds before he received the message: a block of flats were on fire, in his area. The faint waft of smoke led him to the building: people were gathered outside, looking scared but not hurt.
"Hey, you! Super! You've got to help!" someone spotted him and pulled him towards the building: "There are still people in there, this isn't everyone!"
"Uh- I, I don't- This is my first ni-" Lucio stopped stammering and took a deep breath. His earpiece buzzed: the fire department was on the way and he should hold tight, he wasn't trained it saving people from fires. He asked about any of the other supers: could any of them help? The reply was a curt no: they were already bogged down in helping the other newbies. Espereus was told to wait and check over those who made it out-
He took the earpiece out, handed it to the man who had grabbed him, along with his first aid kit and other Olympus gear, before striding towards the building. Flames were licking some of the windows on the ground floor. Even from a fair distance, one could feel the heat washing over them. Espereus halted before it started to hurt: he'd been closer to fires like this, so why was he scared? Hell, he'd danced topless around bonfires plenty of times, and had only been burnt a few times! Except... it wasn't the fear of pain that was stopping him (which was a lie, in some ways: he didn't like pain) instead it was the knowledge that, if he messed up, people would die. He took a deep breath and began muttering the Litany Against Fear that he had been taught in the military. He advanced. With each step towards the fire he felt the pain rise, but he continued, and walked straight into the flames.
It was half an hour later. Espereus was sitting on a bench opposite the now-extinguished building. The ambulances had taken the two people he had rescued to the nearest hospital for asphyxiation, but the medics were farily hopeful about their chances. He had been called a hero, and nobody had died, so why could he not stop shaking? His earpiece buzzed: he had been given the rest of the night off due to his actions. Whether it was a reward or punishment, he didn't know, but as he made his way back to the campus, he was craving sleep. He clambered up to his room and collapsed onto his bed, still in his costume, and fell asleep almost immediately.
[OOC Lucio is back! He'll wake up at whatever time we're currently in, if there's actually something for him to do. ]
