Aurora smirked at Alex's response. Again, she wasn't going to mention anything about dinosaurs. It wasn't worth the risk. "I will join you outside. And the bar sounds like a good plan. Freshers week is supposed to be the highlight of your uni days."

Putting away the the box, he lit the end of his cigarette and took a deep pull. "I imagine alcohol will flow-a-plenty tonight" he said, the cigarette hanging from the side of his mouth as he spoke "I also bet you 'arty-fartsy' types have an incredibly low tolerance" he smirked, and turned towards Aurora "the more the merrier eh?"

Herbert stood outside with the others, feeling kinda out of place. Further more, he thought art degrees were pretty useless but he wasn't going to tell these guys that. Also he didn't quite like the way that Olem had smirked at Aurora when he talked about low tolerance. Of course he also didn't know exactly what to say and he hardly thought Aurora would appreciate him defending her honour when Olem had even insulted it.
Instead he decided to say, "Yeah, freshers is supposed to be pretty memorable. I guess we should try to put a stamp on it."

Signe narrowed her eyes. She had decided already that she did not like Olem. He was sounding like a right pig to her.

Aurora nodded her head and then looked at Herbert. He looked like he wanted to say something other than what he did. Then it clicked. "Hey, I'm not the Artsy type, it's not me Olem was directing it at." She chuckled behind her hand. "Although I guess a social science can be seen as pointless to some, then it saves lives for others." She nodded her head to reassure herself.
“I also think in this day and age it's pretty important to be good at film, media and photography.” She turned to Alex. “The internet is a playground for manipulated media so I think it's good to get a knowledge of how that works.” She then turned to Olem. “And of course, we're always in need of life saving medics.” Man, he was so TALL.
Aurora finally looked at Herbert. “Yeah, we should definitely start this year with a bang. Alex needs to defend his honour and prove he's not a light-weight after all.”

Signe looked mildly annoyed. "Really?" She said. "Must we?"

Herbert blinked at Aurora; she has almost read his mind. Besides the fact he was talking about defending HER honour, not Alex;'s but still. And what she said about Alex's art degree was actually pretty smart. Herbert blushed; hed have to be careful not to develop a crush on her and get turned down hard. Like John Cena hard. "Yeah, let's make some memories. We only live once?" This came out of his mouth, against his will and surely in a bid to impress Aurora.
Stop Herbert, you are being weird. Like really weird. But looking at Olem, he felt a sense of distaste. he certainly didn't want to leave anyone alone with him. Looking at Signe's expression she felt the same way.

Aurora shook her head. "No, if you don't want to, we don't have to." She said to Signe.

Herbert just started to realise he may have misinterpretated Olem's actions and felt pretty stupid. He blushed furiously and resolved to do better. Herbert turned to Signe. "Hey, I think we should all head out together. Even if we are not protecting Alex's honour. You know, strength in numbers." He moved in close to Signe. "Even with Olem," he joked quietly, smiling in a friendly fashion.

Olem adjusted the cigarette in his mouth, blowing out a small cloud of smoke. He looked at the assembled group of people, and ran a hand through his short brown hair. He then directed his gaze towards Herbert, and titled his head slightly, analysing the boy. "Strength in numbers is an odd way to put it" he said absentmindedly, before turning his gaze towards Aurora "Psychs are always fairly useful, a few of my ex-colleagues frequent a few of them for . . post work issues" he said slowly, adjusting his stance, before dropping the now dead cigarette on the floor, and withdrawing another. His hands brushed up against his book, and he took it out for a second, staring at the front cover. He turned it over in his gloved hands slowly, both the front and back of the book were covered in black leather, with no discernible markings. He looked up quickly, placed the book back in his coat and lit his cigarette.

Aurora looked at the floor, not sure what to say to Olem. It would be rude to pry, and the last thing she wanted to do was to drag up bad memories. There was plenty of time in the future for her to do that to clients, after all. She glanced at Signe.
“Well, anyway, if you don't want to join us, you know where we'll be. Unless you have anything specific you had in mind to do?” That was directed at Signe, but was an open question to the whole group. “I'm going to be heading to the bar anyway as I said I'd catch up with a few friends there. If you want, anyone who doesn't want to come right now, you're more than welcome to have my phone number in case you want to catch up later.” Aurora fiddled around in her pocket before she pulled out her phone.

Herbert glanced at the black book but paid it no heed. he'd kept his parents a secret for a long while; maybe Olem wanted the same with that book? He accepted Aurora's number and smiled. At least he had one friend. "I'll probably join you at the bar later. I think I'm going to go for a walk in a bit. A little restless energy all of a sudden." He did appear to be vibrating slightly, like he was on a sugar rush.

Signe took her own phone out. "I would have gone earlier. I was comfortable earlier. Not so much now." Her green eyes flickered obviously in Olem's direction again. "I've just remembered why I don't exactly do 'friends'. Nevertheless, I would gladly trade numbers with you, Aurora."

Herbert said his goodbyes and walked off onto the campus.

'Right,' said Alex, 'bar it is! Let's get going. I'll get the first round in - apparently I need to prove I'm no lightweight!' Before parting, he turned to Signe. 'Don't do friends? Trust me, that angst isn't going to get you anywhere. It does you a world of good to have people around you can talk to, if nothing else. The trust can come later.' With that, he led the way out into the Street, towards the bar.
